European broadcasters and media companies are strengthening their efforts in combat against pay-TV piracy while EU legislators still haven’t developed proper laws. AEPOC Board of Directors’ gathered on October 11th.

AEPOC members pointed out the need to develop legislative acts, making anti-piracy efforts more efficient. According to the participants’ opinion, current law is not precise enough and needs to be adjusted and reformed.

During the meeting AEPOC members reported common actions that were taken in cooperation with other anti-piracy organisations from outside the EU like CASST and CASBAA. That was possible because of an agreement between these organisations concerning information exchange.

AEPOC is about to continue discussions on how to stop piracy. The latest organisations concern is card sharing via internet, steps leading to stop this practice have already been made.
